Meet the woman who is in the business of building through loving, learning, serving and leading. 

Rolita James is an International speaker, philanthropist, and renowned author. Ms. James is also creator of the global brand, “Ro Has Something to Say”, a platform where she shares her heart.

 

A resident of Stamford, CT for over forty years, Ms. James has a heart for community; she is a leader who is passionately committed to the empowerment and equipping of people. So much so that In 2002, Ms. James established The P.A.S.S.I.O.N Organization, a nonprofit agency that provides programming and support for individuals across a broad spectrum with an ultimate goal of aiding people to make positive life changes. 

 

Shortly after in 2008, she founded the F.A.M.I.L.Y. Program where she worked in partnership with many community and national organizations to counseling and offer foundational support for families by teaching them how to be a family. The program had profound impact by gathering people together from different cities and allowing them to communicate their needs. By the end of the program, families had received support in the areas of financial literacy, nutrition, healthy living, substance abuse intervention and other aspects that center on addressing the holistic person.

 

Ms. James has received a degree in Theology from Christ Theological Seminary and certificates in Residential Child Care and Family life at esteemed Cornell University. She has worked with the United Nations as the Secretary of Affairs, served as the secretary for the Business Professional Women  International NY Executive Board, was a platform speaker for the 32 Members of Parliament Convention in Tanzania, East Africa which she taught on the importance of education and recently received a legacy award from the country Liberia for her work and commitment to community.

 

With a gift mix of leadership, wisdom, teaching, and administration, she has a heart for reaching people and helping them to become more fully-devoted and better equipped productive citizens. She desires to see beneficial outcomes in the community of Stamford and endeavors to produce productive citizens for society through laying a foundation of balance, education, and basic life skills.

 

Ms. James received the Proclamation from the City of Stamford from Mayor Mike Pavia. She is a board member of the Mayor's Multicultural Counsel for the City of Stamford and has also served on the youth counsel with Mayor Dan Malloy. She is also Lead Advisor for Bobby Valentine on his mayoral campaign. Currently she is touring and promoting her best-selling book, Someone Has to Pay. Rolita is a proud mother of four lovely children and one grandson.
